UTI treatment for patients in Florida

A UTI does not wait for a weekday appointment. From anywhere in Florida, describe your symptoms in a secure request; a clinician licensed in Florida reads it personally and, if an antibiotic is appropriate, sends the prescription to the Florida pharmacy you choose.

Every clinician who reviews a Florida request holds an active license issued by the Florida Board of Medicine or the Florida Board of Nursing, and your request is only routed to a clinician licensed in Florida.

If a prescription is appropriate, it is sent electronically to the Florida pharmacy you choose, whether that is a chain, a supermarket pharmacy or an independent near you. Medication is billed by the pharmacy, not by Plunge Care.

Care is available today in Texas, Florida, Arizona, New Mexico, Maryland and New York. Your request is only routed to a clinician licensed in the state you are in.

    What to expect

Your provider will review your symptoms and history. Uncomplicated UTIs are often treatable online. Your provider may recommend testing or an in-person visit for complicated cases, recurring infections, or certain symptoms.

Not for emergencies. Plunge Care is not for emergencies. If you're experiencing a medical emergency, call 911.

Clinician-led decisions. All treatment decisions are made by the reviewing licensed provider. Plunge Care does not guarantee any specific prescription or outcome.

    When to seek in-person care

Symptoms like fever, back or flank pain, or vomiting can signal a more serious infection — seek in-person or urgent care in those cases.

    Overview

Urinary tract infections are common bacterial infections affecting the bladder and urethra. Symptoms include burning during urination, frequent urination, and urgency. UTIs are effectively treated with antibiotics.

    Symptoms

Common symptoms include burning sensation during urination, frequent urge to urinate, cloudy or strong-smelling urine, pelvic pain, and blood in urine.

    Treatment

UTIs are typically treated with a short course of antibiotics such as nitrofurantoin, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, or fosfomycin. Symptoms usually improve within 1-2 days.

    Prevention

Stay hydrated, urinate after intercourse, wipe front to back, and avoid irritating feminine products. Cranberry supplements may help some patients.
